A Framework for Feeding Linked Data to Complex Event Processing Engines
نویسندگان
چکیده
A huge volume of Linked Data has been published on the Web, yet is not processable by Complex Event Processing (CEP) or Event Stream Processing (ESP) engines. This paper presents a framework to bridge this gap, under which Linked Data are first translated into events conforming to a lightweight ontology, and then fed to CEP engines. The event processing results will also be published back onto the Web of Data. In this way, CEP engines are connected to the Web of Data, and the ontological reasoning is integrated with event processing. Finally, the implementation method and a case study of the framework are presented.

A Native and Adaptive Approach for Unified Processing of Linked Streams and Linked Data
In this paper we address the problem of scalable, native and adaptive query processing over Linked Stream Data integrated with Linked Data. Linked Stream Data consists of data generated by stream sources, e.g., sensors, enriched with semantic descriptions, following the standards proposed for Linked Data. This enables the integration of stream data with Linked Data collections and facilitates a...
متن کاملLARS: A Logic-Based Framework for Analyzing Reasoning over Streams
The recent rise of smart applications has drawn interest to logical reasoning over data streams. Different query languages and stream processing/reasoning engines were proposed. However, due to a lack of theoretical foundations, the expressivity and semantics of these diverse approaches were only informally discussed. Towards clear specifications and means for analytic study, a formal framework...
متن کاملSPARQL Update for Complex Event Processing
Complex event processing is currently done primarily with proprietary definition languages. Future smart environments will require collaboration of multi-platform sensors operated by multiple parties. The goal of my research is to verify the applicability of standard-compliant SPARQL for complex event processing tasks. If successful, semantic web standards RDF, SPARQL and OWL with their establi...
متن کاملINSTANS: High-Performance Event Processing with Standard RDF and SPARQL
Smart environments require collaboration of multi-platform sensors operated by multiple parties. Proprietary event processing solutions lack interoperation flexibility, leading to overlapping functions that can waste hardware and communication resources. Our goal is to show the applicability of standard RDF and SPARQL – including SPARQL 1.1 Update – for complex event processing tasks. If found ...
متن کاملUser-centric Complex Event Modeling and Implementation Based on Ubiquitous Data Service
Current complex event processing systems are often implemented as standalone engines that produce business events and feed process execution environments. Event patterns are defined with rule-based languages. Logical programming and/or stream processing techniques are used to detect matchings for the patterns. However, tremendous technical efforts are required both for the pattern definition an...
